Hope youre all doing ok. I finally got the appointment its for the 8 Feb. What Im wondering is what happens on my first visit, I know to take details of meds and stuff and that they will examine me but what next? Do they arrange for other tests on that day? Will they take blood that day? And do they make another appointment for you to go back? Do you have to go regularly once youve seen them? How often? Sorry for the questions Im just not sure what to expect. And do they write your sick notes for ESA? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi Wendy, I had blood taken and xrays straight from the clinic. As all my joints had seized up and I couldn't walk they also gave a steroid injection in my butt, aspirated my knee and injected that too. They did a lot of work on me! I was admitted to the ward later
that day as was very ill. However, I also had been to another clinic for my shoulder and he injected that straight away and got a follow up appt. I'm sure they will give you one, unless you are so well you don't need to see them again My follow up appts are every six weeks but expect that varies. Don't know about sick notes, someone else will have to help with that.
Hope that helps a bit.

Hi Wendy,
Like Sally my first appointment with the rumo was x-rays, bloods and a full history taken. He examined me and did a couple of cortisone jabs and then I saw him again in a few weeks for the results. I don't know much about sick notes and ESA I am afraid. Sometimes its a good idea to write stuff down cus its so easy to forget what you wanted to ask as you go through the door. I really hope your appointment goes well and please keep us posted. Take care Cris0 -
Thanks for the replies. I hope Im not well when I go. Id hate them to say I dont need to go again if I seem ok on that day. I had a couple of Xrays in October and they showed I have degeneration but they only Xrayed my hips and hand but
talking of shoulders, I have these strange round bumps-like bone on mine and Im sure its what causes the pain in my shoulders. Theyre not big and hardly noticeable but can be felt. I have a little one on my knee as well. :? My doctor had a look and said I think its Rhuematoid, do people get these sort of bumps with wear and tear?0 -
hi Wendy, they know people have good and bad days so don't think they will dismiss your symptoms. In any case, I am sure they will give you a follow up appointment.
Had some bumps on my toes that came up more or less overnight :? but rheumy thought it was OA, not RA.
Let us know how you get on.
