at the moment ...

I am new to the game .....

co codomal ( 30mg ) for severe pain outbreaks ....doctor wants me to use when needed rather than all the time

on lesser pain days paracetamol seems to do the trick

amitriptyline ......50mg......for sleep and some nerve pain

stiffness and soreness and pain to tendons and ligaments .......rhumatologist looking at it.........Anti Inflammatory ?.............which one ?......would like a easy dosing one as I am not great at taking medication

Rubbing cream.......I use capsican cream around ankle ...but I have also had relief just using baby oil or deep heat cream ....and ice

is this sort of list the thing most people have for dealing with arthur ?

do people find any supplements help with join and tendon pain ?...cod liver oil , msm ?.........hear a lot about these

I might add I have been told that my problems dont as yet appear to be in need of the disease modifying ( ?) drugs ?

she said sometimes its best if you have symptoms of both to take an overall appraoch ...but its most likely oa

hmm - lets see if I can remember without looking at my repeat prescription list. For RA (that is still not controlled) I take......
    25mg methotrexate injections weekly
Hydroxychloroquine sulphate - 2 per day
    Sulfasalazine 500mg - 4 per day
    Co-codamol capsules - 6 per day
Tramadol - 4 per day and for breakthrough pain
Prochlorperazine tabs - for nausia 3 per day
Amitriptylin - 2-3 at night to help me sleep
Lisinopril - high bp - 1 per day
Benfroflumetrhiazide - high bp 1 per day
    Levothyroxine - slow thyroid - 100mg daily
Omeprazole - to protect stomach - 2 per day
Fluoxetine capsules - anti depressant 2 per day
Folic Acid - 3 per week after methotrixate
and occasional use of Movicol sachets

I did remember them all but had to check my repeat list for some of the spelling!!
I'm beginning to rattle now - and the chemist puts my monthly meds into a carrier bag instead of the paper bags. It's frightening how many drugs I'm swallowing.......but I am more mobile now and am able to (sort of) control my pain and have some quality of family life in between flare ups so it's the lesser of two evils for me - pills or 'arthur' - no contest really!!!
