Hi
After having my THR cancelled last September because of high liver enzymes which it was found to be the statin that I had been taking since April.
I have got the all clear from my GP and he is referring me again to see a consultant so off I go again on the long lonely road at the bottom of the waiting list to see him.
I will wait and see what happens this time.

    Hi Denise

Aw, please do not be lonely. :) I would advise that you do not wait too long for something to "happen". Keep an eye on the weeks as they go by and a phone call enquiry every now and again would not come amiss. Perhaps ask who you are talking to and keep a note of the name, date and time. May get you seen a little earlier, you never know. It was not your fault after all, was it that the statin you were taking caused problems, so it would be a kind gesture to get you moving up the list a little faster than perhaps someone else. No harm in trying anyways. If you don 't ask, you don't get.

I wish you well with that and hope you do not have to wait too long.

    Luv
    Elna x

    Densie,

I agree with Elna, surely you don't have to go to the bottom of the list again?

Whatever happens Good Luck & keep us up to date on how you get on.

    Hello Denise!
I am so glad they found the cause of the problem & that it is nothing serious for your health. I have been wondering how you are & just found this post.
Each time time you see or speak to someone explain how long you've been on the list before & what happened - keep posting & let us know how you are?
Hope it won't be too long now before you can move on to your new hip op & a chance of being pain free!
    Love Pennie X

Hi, I hope that you don't have too long to wait, might they take that into consideration and pop you in quickly. My husband had to stop the statins for that reason, luckily he didn't need it really, but they like diabetics to have them.

    Hi

Whilst I was waiting to be called for my hip replacement op
my GP wrote to the consultant asking if I could be classed
    as urgent.
Also after 8 weeks of being on the waiting list, I phoned the consultant's secretary and
was very lucky in that I got in on a cancellation for the following week, which was
a whole 6 weeks before the scheduled date for the op, which
would incidentally have been yesterday the 25th Jan, but now
I am into my 6th week of recovery and doing well.

So maybe a call to the secretary would be beneficial seeing
as you have already been on the list for a long while.

Hope you get called soon and
    hope it all goes well.

    Hi Denise
I do hope that you won't be right at the bottom :(
If so then you have all my sympathy - nothing worse than waiting when you are suffering.
Even so I am glad you are on there now.
You are going to let us know what happens eh?
    Love

    Hi
Thanks guys for your replies, I think I will have to start from the bottom of the list again because I have asked my GP if I can see a different consultant this time because I put a official complaint in to the hospital about the consultant and the way he had spoken to me when he "treated me" last time, the consultant in question did say that if I wanted him to treat me again he would do and I could phone his secretary for a meeting, so that we could talk about it, but I would rather wait then have to put up with his attitude again.
