I had a missed call today from the NHS direct, 0845647. Ive just noticed it does anyone have any idea if it could be something to do with my appointment? Ive never had them ring me before :?
Im getting a bit worried about this I dont even have any credit to ring them and my internet is through a dongle. My appointment is next week but surely if it was anything to do with that the rhuemy would ring?

sounds a bit odd ....... I thought NHS DIrect only rang you back if you rang and asked for medical help. When I rang them they asked loads of questions then got someone to ring me back.

perhaps they were ringing someone else and they got your number by mistake?

If it is important they will surely ring you back and if not then I' wouldn't worry!

Thanks for the replies. I havent rang them lately, the last time I rang NHS direct was nearly two years ago. Maybe they did just get the wrong number. Its very strange I hope nothings wrong.

They just rang me back. They wanted to check I could go to the appointment they made for me. I hope this is just a routine thing and not because Ive got something drastically wrong with me. I never though to ask. :|

Hope your appointment goes well Wendy.

Our Hospital Trust has a policy of using an automated phone message whereby you confirm that you will be attending the appointment made for you. This is to cut down wastage of appointments by non-attendance. It seems to work very well.

    Hi Wendy

Yes NHS rang me (and I too got a fright!) it was to confirm I was keeping my Rheum appointment the following week. I think they must be doing this as routine now, because of the waiting lists for appointments etc.
