Hi All

First of all thanks to everyone who welcomed me to the site and I am now prepared for a long fight for DLA, anyway I have OA in my lower Spine with Prolapsed disc along with discs pressing on nerves awaiting for Occupatioal Health to see me at work, sorr waffling.

I am taking 50mg Tramadol 4 times a day and 6-8 Co-Codamol in between with Ibuprofen in between, anyway the pain is getting to me and I want to see my GP with regard to better pain control, any ideas would be welcome as my GP has admitted he is not an expert,

thanks

    Hi
I have OA and its treated with tramadol and amatriptylne, the pain clinic changed the tramadol to Slow Release which means 200mgs every 12 hours. They seem to be a bit more effective especially at night. I expect you have been referred to physio, if not it you might feel like suggesting it. It can help a bit by strengthening your muscles.
    Love Sue

is any of your pain in areas you can self massage ?

if it is ,, try freezing foam cups of water and massaging area

or use a bag of frozen peas

and from time to time rubbing heat cream into them

just got back from GP and now on Morphine and some cream based on chilies, I explained about waves of heat down my legs which is evidently lumbar spinal canal stenosis and I have to get some more meds next week, I asked if I am going to become a junkie but GP said no if it is being used for pain control which it most definatly is! so now on morphine makes you wonder where will it end?
