Is there anyone else on here with the same illness, also have bone growth on C5-C66 with trapped nerve. and if so was wondering do you have to be catherised, and has your bowel movement stopped. Trying to understand if this is all down to Arthur or if it could be neurological. If you feel embarrassed  to reply on the forum, please send me a private message

I'm sorry I can't help you but I'm hoping someone comes along who can .....must admit it sounds a bit grim.

Can you ask your medical team about the cathetar?

    Hi Welsh lady.

I had my back go on me on my hols in Florida. There was a small frature and a disc which didn't go back.

I had problems FINISHING my wees. I was always on the loo but didn't loose control.

Once I had the surgery I was fine. If you have this sort of problem you must get it sorted I think it's really not good for you.

    Good luck

    Love

    Toni xx

    Hi Welsh Lady,

I got similar and the same kind of fear as well as a few others BUT so far so good and its been a few years now.

I know in my case I had so many 'might happens' and I promise you though my lumber does make me have retention or frequent I don't think the neck has done too much in that department. I promise you its not as bad as you think it will be.

You do need it well looked at, and the pain well controlled and if they offer surgery...... well I would jump at it but they are reluctant to play with my neck cus its not so good (apparently) However its not got me yet so though I know why your thinking that way please try and remember it doesn't always happen and the figures are honestly in your favour. Take care and it will be ok. ((( ))) Cris x

Hi I have the problems with the same disks in my neck and an osteophate, I also have lumber disk problems L1 & L2. I have the urine retention problem, but it dosn't bother me. I have't mentioned it to my GP, as I've never really thought of it, for me, as a serious problem, just an occasional nausance, having to go back to the loo.

Having said that, I think you should get it checked out, as these things can be easily sorted. If I had pain or real inconveinice (no pun intended  ) I would go to my GP.
    Honest!!!

I know this is going to sound very weird, but do you mean when you go, and really feel like you need to wee, and then a few minutes later have to go again?

Thanks for clearing that up :)
(I'm not a weirdo, it's been suggested that I might have spinal arthritis, but they don't seem to be doing much about it. Or RA, which is what they currently diagnose me as having (apart from giving me tablets), which is frustrating enough on its own, but I'm fighting DLA at the moment too.
