Hi
I havent been able to play sports or about 4 months now and although currently unable to alot most days, due to being too stiff / too painful / too tired and a general feeling on being unwell and fatigued.
I have a long term goal o get back into sports and was wondering whether it is reaslistic and whether i am likely to cause more damage or whether in fact if i feel well enough whether it would in fact benefit me.

I have been diagnosed with a type of spondyloarthropathy, my gp had mentioned AS several times. I have most of my problems with the sacroiliac joint, lower back which s since spread up to my thoracic area and sternum.
Last x ray / mri showed inflammation but no damage from what i can recall.

    Hi Bailey,

I had to give up my chosen sport but I didn't for a while just the less supple I got the less point there was cus I was being marked down for it. I now do a fair bit of strengthening and also via my work a fair bit of lifting but mine comes with a price. I pay that price but do often wonder if I had gone more careful when I was younger would I be so bad now? I have no idea and I'd been some miserable

I think you might be better not doing high impact stuff but some might help build up the muscles and some exercises to build up the spines muscles can only be a good thing ....... IF your back is like mine and it may not be. Why not have a chat with someone in the know? There must be some sports you can still do and I really hope you find something. Luv Cris x
