Hi
I have been suffering with chronic back pain and everything that is associated with this for the last 5 years.
I saw my Rheumy for the first time aweek ago and he has to do more tests before he will commit as to which kind of arthritis i have.
He sent me for blood tests.
The nurse took 7 viles of blood from me and 2 had to kept in the dark straight away.
Would you know why this is?
Also he is sending me for an ultra-sound.
Would you know how this would show anything related to Arthritis?

Dear Heather
We are not quite sure why your blood samples needed to be put in the dark straight away. Whilst our Information Manager is away the quickest way to find out is to ring up your nurse and ask.
Regarding the ultra sound this is a little bit like a live moving Xray and would show the damage in your joints which may help to indicate what type of arthritis you have.
Hope that helps.
Best wishes
