what does a lung scan involve?

Have a recurring cough so taken off, again, Methotrexate. Need this scan to see if my lungs are effected or not. Hopefull that I have just another virus and not anything else. I know that RA can attack the lungs and also Methotrexate can cause lung inflamation. Has anyone had a similar experience?

I have had a scan cus I also coughed a lot and it was the usual scan. I really want to just wish you luck and though hollow try not to worry. Take care Cris x

It'll probably be a standard chest x-ray, nothing to worry about anyways

i never knew R/A caused lung damage,, i had 3 x/rays done nov/dec was told by my gp i had either infection or damage at the top of my right lung took 2 weeks of antibiotics which did nothing ..find my breathing is very laboured i am always coughing..i think mybe i should go back and see my gp.... thx diane

Hi Diane,
Think you're wise to go see you GP. I've had all the tests. There's nothing to worry about in any of them and it's reassuring to get it sorted. One thing I would say .... ask questions, make sure you get sensible answers. Have sent you a little PM - hope you don't mind.

I have problems.I struggle to breath at times and always need a drink with me.I have had an X-ray which showed nothing wrong, plus tests for preperation for Humira, which I was rubbish at.I opted for a spinal anaesthetic for my hip replacement due to the breathing issues.I have no answer to this problem yet.
