ooops I just realised I can't spell............

after weeks of putting "athritis" into google I was wondering why nothing decent was comming up, untill my boyfriend pointed out to me that I was spelling it wrong, ooooooops...........

I think that English is one of the hardest languages to learn, particularly because of our idiosyncratic spelling.( and that was hard to spell! )

We have so many words which sound the same, but have different meanings eg. there and their, here and hear, bored and board, where and wear, or,ore, oar, and awe.

Then we have words which are spelled the same, but have different meanings eg.'tear' can mean rip or a tear as in crying. The word 'row' has four different meanings; an argument, a loud noise, to row a boat, or things in a line.

Is it any wonder that people get confused :?: :shock:

When people sweat they 'smell like pigs'. I think this is how the phrase originated. Instead of saying smelling like a pig, people say "sweating like a pig.''

Not as bad as Mandarin where the inflection is all important as one word can have a myriad meanings.

That must be very difficult to learn. Do you know any :?: It could be embarrassing if you got the inflection wrong, couldn't it :?: The mind boggles :!:

Just strap the bales to Slipper Boy's back Cris then they will walk and he wouldn't be able to eat them .....see I can solve all your probs for you

I'm doing fine .....and call that sun yesterday we get more heat from a lightbulb :roll:
