Hi Karen,
Yes I get that every so often and it's flipping horrid. You have my sympathy.
I also get pain when moving eyes and was told that illnesses which can attack the muscles also can affect muscles around eyes. Im seeing and ophthalmologist regarding my eye problems.
Have you seen an optician or spoken to your GP?
Hope you get answers and keep us posted.

Thank you Eve and Sally - I was getting a bit worried about it and its difficult yo know if all these other sysmptoms are connected or if its something else altogether! I have an appointment with my GP on Thursday to discuss the letter from my Rheumatologist so i'll mention the eye thing to him then. I kept thinking i had something in my eye, but after lots of eye baths  and the way the pain sort of comes and goes i started to wonder.... as you do....
Thanks again

I get similar and feeling of eyeball being squashed in a vice, this is how migraines manifest themselves in my case, darkened room, cold gel packs and meds are the only option, trouble is I end up on so many pills I rattle!!
