Hello,
I visited my physio this morning and she examined me and tested my strength and reflexes. She says I sould go and see a neurologist as she is worried, as I have a slight jerky movement, when trying to use force to push and my fingers are a bet jerky at times.

Of course, this set me off worrying and going through the net looking for all sorts of things, and of course in my mind, I've got the worst ones that you can imagine! It was worrying though, and she said I must book a double appointment with my GP to talk it over and shes writting to her tonight! I also don't have good reflexes in the lower half of my body.

I know its silly, but I just think that it must be bad for her to write straight away and be so insistant that I should see a neurologist as well as a rheummy. :? I see the rheummy at the end of the month.

She also said that I've lost some muscle strength in my legs and shes given me some exercises; I have to get up from a chair and sit back down without using my arms for 10 times!!! She made me practice. Its so hard not using you arms, also I had to do a 'controlled' sit, in the same way. I got told off several times for using my arms. She said you'r going to be in pain tomorrow, but don't worry, thats whats supposed to happen!

I told her about not getting esa, and she couldn't bellieve it, she said that at the moment I have to work on keeping my body going, not medicals done by untrained people. That made me feel better!

Sorry, I've not been on much lately, but I've been reading loads of booklets and trying to work out what to do, its been hard going and very depressing. Anyway, I've sent the appeal form off today, so I'll have to wait and see.
Love Sue

    Hi Sue,

I'm sorry you've been having a hard time........it's not easy dealing with all the variations and problems that arther creates on your own.

I'm really glad you've posted ; I know from my own experience that sharing your worries with folks here on the forum means you will have support...and even if we don't have all the answers at least you'll not feel so isolated with it all. x

Your physio was well intentioned, I'm sure, but her approach does seem to have been a bit 'heavy'? and left you with a lot of unanswered questions.... so the sooner you see your doc the better; otherwise you'll keep going around in circles worrying!

take care and let us know what the doc says. will be thinking about you. Iris x

Hi, Thank you for the replies. Yes, I am a bit of a worrier when it comes to these sort of things! I think, too that I had either a bug or, more likely, a flair last week, I felt awful and had lots of pain and swelling, but I am a lot better this week.

My physio is quite nice in lots of ways but she does have a 'hard' side! I wouldn't want to upset her! She is one of the senior physios that visit our towns medical centre and is determined to make you do your exercises. :? She says that everything needs to be covered, so that they can give the right treatment and as far as neck and lumber problems go, is not in favour of surgery, she keeps telling me to 'keep away from the surgeons if you can! :? She has helped with getting full movement back in the hand that had surgery, which was a bit stiff and unco-ordinated after the op. She taught me a simple exercise that I often just do without thinking, its so easy, but the increase in movement is great. Its still painful, but she say thats fine!!!

I wish I had taken her with me to the esa medical, I reckon she'd have given them their orders!!!

    HI Sue,

just wanted to give you a hug (((())))))) and say that you know sometimes we use all our energy on the imaginings we do .... only to find that the reality is never as bad as we have imagined it might be.
