Hello
Oh, what a wonderful day I've had.

I left home at 10.45 this morning for my 11.30 pain management seminar, thinking that as I know the hospital that has the clinic but not very well, as its an old place and not used a lot these days. I thought I'd give myself plenty of time to get lost and find a parking place etc.

I was almost there when I took a turning that I thought was correct, but as soon as I turned, I realised that I'd got it wrong! :o But never mind, I'd go down a side street which I thought would lead me back to the road I'd left, I couldn't turn round because of the traffic.

I drove and drove and took verious turnings, sure that I'd get on the right road, I followed sign posts, but they only confused things more as the place I wanted was only mentioned on the first signpost, then at the next turning it was no longer mentioned!!! So I stopped and tried to phone the hospital and explain. My battery in the mobile was dead! B@gg@r and a few even more rude words.

So I kept on driving, it snowed and then stopped all the time, so one minute I was driving in sunshine, the next in thick snow! Then I saw a name I did know. A village that sort of adds itself on to Norwich! Its on a main road so I just had to go along it even though I was heading out of the city towards the north side and I live in the south!

I turned downs a side road and stopped, worked out a rough way home and 2 hours after starting, I arrived home! I then had the embarrising job of ringing the hospital and explaining how I missed my appointment. They seemed to think it was FUNNY!!!

So tonight I'm tired, stiff and want to get away from a husband who thinks it the funnniest thing since, well I took a wrong turning off a motorway and ended up on the worng one, but it was going roughly in the right direction and only added 3 hours to the journey back from Cornwall. It was his fault, if he hadn't kept saying 'don'nt go on the M5 in the Welsh direction, I'd have done it right.:lol::lol:
Love Sue

Oh Sue, what a terrible experience. Yes it can be funny to some but not to you. You have missed your appt. how long to the next one.

I remember going down to look after my granddaughter in Hallesdon area, London. I needed something from the supermarket which was just down the road, nappies in actual fact. I couldn't get the pushchair to workproperly so I thought I would just put her in the car seat in the car. Got to the supermarket Ok. On leaving, Well, I immediately got lost then disorientated and I was driving round and round in circles. I then suddenly recognised the road leading into the backstreets of Hallesdon High Street. Oh gosh I was so worried especially with such a priceless responsibility. I wasn't very good at driving in London so many one way streets. so easy to go wrong.
I hope you have recovered and not in too much pain.
Have you heard about the other matter. and have you appealed.

Hi, I think I will learn how to use the sat nav! The trouble with Norwich, like most cities, is that the houses and roads look alike and once you get into the traffic, you can't stop or turn round. I seriousely thought I might get to the North Coast!

Never been so pleased to get home!

    HI Sue
I found myself giggling at your posting ... apologies in advance - you will giggle at it later. You had quite an adventurous journey to the hospital!

I hope you're feeling less tired today.

Hi, Yes, I have giggled a bit, it was either that or cry!

They haven't given me another appointment, as the number I rang went straight through to the person organizing the course and she was busy.... She laughed and said she'd have to look up her notes and write.

I must admit I did get a bit worried - comming out of the city on the other side to normal meant that I didn't have a clue about where I was. Luckily the car was full of petrol!!!
