    Hi NB

How are you doing? Just saw your post on Hileena's thread - does this mean you're home now too? I hope all went well for you. I know it wasn't an "arthur" op, but sending you best wishes, and hope you're up and about ASAP

    Love from Lynn xxx

    Hi
Thanks for thinking of me, but....I haven`t had my op yet!!
I had a very traumatic day alst Friday when i was cancelled and sent home from the ward! I was in my gown and ted stockings all ready to go to theatre at 1.30pm and was told it was all off at 1.25pm!! I was very upset but set off home, only to be called back to the ward by phone. I went back, waited an hour and a half only to be sent home again. (the surgeon was stuck in theatre with someone else)
I was told it had been rearranged for this Tuesday, only to be phoned on Monday and told they couldn`t do it and I am noe going in on the 23rd Feb, which is 1 year to the day of my THR!!!
So I didn`t post earlier as I was a bit down. Sorry. I have been back to work, but have finished again for half term then hopefully back to the hospital and the op on 23rd!
Thanks again for being there xx

    Dear NB

What a horrible thing to happen - to be all prepared then told to go home - I would have been devastated. It's no wonder you were upset. I would have cried for England. My TKR is on Monday.

I hope it goes well for you on 23 February (my birthday!).

    Take care

    Dear NB

Oh my goodness, what a terrible nightmare and to be called back again and then it did not go ahead. Torture-ama!  Bless you. :) No wonder you did not feel like calling in here. :)

We syke ourselves up for these ops and make so many arrangements to sort this and that. I really feel for you. I am sure they will not DARE to cancel again for you.

    Enjoy the half term, :D

    Love
    Elna x
The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

    Hello NB

How awful to be messed about like that. You were obviously anxious about your op, but to have got there and waiting then cancelled. Not good enough.
You sound as though you are all set for the 23rd however and I can only hope it all goes smoothly for you.

    Hi nearly,

what a terrible ordeal! stop .....start ....stop you must have been both physically and mentally exhausted by the stress that caused, so it's not surprising you felt a bit 'down'.

hopefully there will be no more delays now; will keep fingers crossed for you that the op goes ahead on the 23rd.....let us know how it goes. Irisx

    Hi Lynn
It was a bit `ward rage`!! I was a bit like a stroppy teenager...whipping off the ted stockings, tape from my weddng ring etc... and saying `it`s not like I`m having a toenail removed you know!!` Oooops!
I was very emotional, bursting in to tears all weekend. But, now I have decided these things are out of my control so I have to geton with things. However, if they try to cancel me again on the 23rd I will not be responsible for my actions!
Apart from me getting organised physically and emotionally, it was arranging childcare, my hubby taking time off work to take me to the hospital, sorting stuff at work ; it affects so many things/people when we go into hosptal. I really hope I never experience this again.

    Hi Nearly,

That's just mean! I will keep everything crossed for the 23rd and I am not surprised you were emotional, hell I would have gone ballistic I think. A ((( ))) and hope your feeling a bit less angry now? Cris x

Hi Nb, sorry to hear youre still waiting for your op, tell me about cancellations!!!!! I was exactly the same; I went to bed when I got home , I was so down and then everyone kept ringing me up asking how it went :( I enentually didnt tell anyone, just let them all know when Id had it. Well worth the wait though, just didnt like the experience of not being in control of my own life  Well enjoy the half term and get your ipod charged ready! jk
