Hi Jenny pain in the ribs eh, they haven't cracked or damaged the ligaments have they??, egypt sounds nice, I did my PADI dive licence a few years back and have always wanted to dive there. Mind you all the weight of the tank and body weights you need would kill my knees now!.

    Hi Jenny,

I am sorry Jordan has got the rib pain. I also get it and they say its part of the pa, or sometimes deflected from my spine cus I often annoy it a bit. I really hope he is ok in his self? Poor lad its so wrong when they are so young.

Hey that cartilage thing is painful so you take care and good luck when you see the ortho. Let us know can you? A ((( ))) and a hope both you and Jordan are soon feeling much better. Cris x

Oh forgot to say I envy you Egypt, its one of the places I have always wanted to go to..... My plan being start there and then over to the Sudan and down to Ethiopia before going to the Massamara ( sorry the spell check scratched its head one that one  )and the Serengeti....... One day eh?! When pigs make regular flights from Newquay :lol::lol: x

    Hi Jenny,

I get pain in my ribs when I breathe and they feel tender to the touch but that's only during a flare. It's probably best to get him looked at though just to make sure.

I suffer with Costochrondritis(sp), Its inflamation of the cartlidge between the ribs. It also affects the sterum(breast bone) collar bones & i also get mastitus with it too.
Its very painful, anti-inflammatories should help if it is.(ibuprofen or diclofenics)
Its hurts to breathe in & out when its on a flare up & sometimes feels like theres a bit of something stuck under the rib cage between the ribs & stomach.
Its best to get it checked out & hopefully get something to help with the pain .
    sorry I cant help further.

    Hi Jenny!
nice to see you back...but so sorry Jordan has more pain to cope with.x

I don't get rib pain, so can't offer any advice other than to seek info. and support from the rheumy team.x

Egypt sounds lovely! just the heat would be great at this time of year. did you 'swim' while you were there?

Bad news that the acupuncture didn't help your bursitis!!! hope you get to the bottom of it and get the pain relief you need......doubly difficult for you with both you and Jordan being in pain. keep your chin up. Iris x

    Hi,

I have had pain in my ribs, on the right hand side right at the bottom for the last 18 months on and off. I went to both my GP and Rheumy and was sent for a whole bunch of tests, ultrasounds of liver, kidney, gallbladder, chest x-ray and they all came back clear. Think it may sadly be something that just happens with Arthritis.

I'm actually planning to go back and ask again about it as it is a bit irritating, its not painful per-se but irritating and the whole area is just a bit oversensitive to touch.

Does that sound something similar to Jordan?

hi all yes egypt was fantastic the red sea was all i thought it would be the fish were amazing ,no i didn't go swiming as i'm a bit funny with fish swiming round me lol, i did paddle though up to my knees and had little clown fish and box fish darting in and out of my legs .My husband dives and snorkles and he said it was the best he had ever seen.It was lovely and hot out there to about 28 abit better than the minus 4 we left in  . Iphoned jordan's rhummy nurse today about his ribs and they want him to have an xray and bloods taken tomorow after his physio poor thing he hates blood tests  they can never find a vein, so i will let you know how he gets on.
