says hes happy for me to drop co codomol and use normal paracetamol on an as needed basis

but has suggested I might benefit from a trial of....

slow release tramadol ....painkiller

PLUS

naproxen ......anti inflammatory

can anyone suggest a dose of tramadol as a ball park figure ?

I know we are all different but if I do take up his offer, I want to know the range of doses regarding slow release tramadol

the naproxen I know about

    Hi Bluebeard
Just wanging this back up as I know others are on Tramadol at the mo and I haven't been on it for about 6 years. What I will say is that for me it took some getting used to as It made me feel a bit queasy, but was effective.

Hi, I'm on the slow release tramadol 200mg twice a day, which is, I think the maximum, but they do seem to help. When I first started, I had the ordinary capsules and started on 1x4 day for few days then up to 2 x 4 a day. I felt a bit sick for the first week or so, but not after that. My GP did warn me I would and told me to ring her and get some tablets to stop the sickness if it came, but I am fine. Like all these things, we are all different.

Hi bluebeard I take 100mg slow release but I tend to take 2 at a pop, I also take 50mg fast acting Tramadol.
This next bit might be of interest to you, I have been perscribed Zydol 100mg slow release but I also was given a different sort called Tramaquel and these really upset my stomach to the point I gave up taking them, they were like consentrated Movacol not pleasent!.

I am on Tramadol 100s SR. x 2 a day. with Paracetamol to help out if pain is bad.
I have, taken the occasional ordinary Tramadol 50 mg inbetween, but very rarely, I think the paracetamol is better for you than the co-codomols. For me anyway. We are all different and all react differently to meds.

    Hope yo get on OK
