physio , under supervision of rhumy, is going to try this for some of the stiffness and soreness around my ankle
anyone had it ?
I assume its working ACROSS the areas of pain , rather than along and up and down the length of the muscle , tendons etc ?

Hi bluebeard,
I haven't heard of this but my son tells me he has!
Apparently it is sometimes used to aid recovery from sports injuries. The main purpose is to improve the blood flow to the damaged tissues which can aid in the healing process. It starts out slowly, gently and progresses into deeper tissue massage as the outer muscle fibers soften and relax, allowing the second and third layer of muscle to be accessed.
Not sure what it's application is in treating arther though...
don't know if that info was helpful or not!
let us know how you get on! Iris x0 -
