I want the singer the song and the album it's off, good luck.

MY P-47 is a pretty good ship
And she took a round coming cross the Channel last trip
I was thinking 'bout my baby and letting her rip
Always got me through so far

Oh I'll give you a clue, they were using music from this album last night on the hairy bikers. :?:

I guess you could call it US folk/rock this guy is still going and was opposed to the latest Iraq invasion which got him hot water with the public in the US, the album name is that of one of the species of rattle snake they have in this part of the US where he comes from.

    Any good Toni??

Well done Lynn, thanks for that.

Sorry mell but I did then just have a teeny weeny google (sorry Toni)

Well blow me I have heard of the artist but not the album and felt so guilty at cheating I didn't stay long enough to discover the track.

Will leave it for the clever ones to enlighten us.

Right then try this one, mind you it’s half the dam song here!.
The clues there from the US similar sort of music less rocky, they don’t tour here much, very big in the states, first part of their name comes from a slang name for the southern states of the US.
One of them wrote a song that’s on the album this came from, it was driven by the anger they felt on getting death threats from a fan due to one of them coming out against the Iraq war, the album sold well and got a lot of awards, I really like this bunch but get stick for doing so but I think they are dam fine players and performers, just look on U Tube for the proof. Well once you sussed it that is!.

    When the calls and conversations
    Accidents and accusations
    Messages and misperceptions
    Paralyze my mind

    Busses, cars, and airplanes leaving
    Burning fumes of gasoline
    And everyone is running
And I come to find a refuge in the

Easy silence that you make for me
It's okay when there's nothing more to say to me
And the peaceful quiet you create for me
And the way you keep the world at bay for me
The way you keep the world at bay

    Monkeys on the barricades
Are warning us to back away
They form commissions trying to find
The next one they can crucify
