Hi Del
I like this philosophical story
I try to be like the coffee bean, but sometimes I end up as a carrot. I hope I am never like the egg though.

I think I am coffee. When the chips are down I am at my strongest.
One day Iam sure something will happen and I will become the carrot but at the mo I am strong enough to cope.

[May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.[/quote]
Wow delboy!
this really made me think....what a great mantra for the future. I hope I'm like the coffee bean or if not that I learn from my past and become one!

I think others would say I`m a coffee bean, and most of the time I am.
I believe that we all have to have some, what I call "soft time" though, every so often - being carrot like maybe - to enable us to build ourselves back up into a coffee bean again, and to ensure that we don`t become hard - or egg like..........Ange.0 -
Hi

I don't know whether you ever entirely forget past failures and heartaches, but they form part of your character, and make you a stronger person. You can be more tolerant and sympathetic towards others if you have experienced failure and heartache yourself.0 -

And if I feel like a carrot, there is always someone there to make me smell the coffee.0 -

Hi Del
Definitely a Coffee Bean here, learned the hard way that there is no point in fretting and that you should take life as it comes. One day at a time!

Hi
My neighbour is a wonderful man of 90, but he looks much younger. Life has thrown plenty of bad things at him throughout his 90 years, but he is definitely like the coffee bean when it comes to surviving adversity.
I asked him what he thought his secret was, and he said that he tries not to worry about things. He just faces things as they arise, and doesn't worry about the future. He makes me feel calm just to talk to him.0 -
Hi
Definately one to ponder, I have been a carrot and an egg, but I think I am heading to the coffee stage at the moment.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
I am the coffee bean, however the carrot does rear its ugly head now and again.
