HI all, i have not posted for a while so hope you are all well.
I have osteo arthritis and am having particularly bad times with my fingers, they swell a lot and some are becoming mis-shapen and i find it hard to do lots of things now such as opening cans etc, i can manage that as my OH helps, but what is bothering me is that they are 'throbbing' at the end of the day and sometimes during the day and this is really uncomfortable and painful at times, any ideas as to what i can do? its affecting my sleep to. my doctors not that helpful so bit reluctant to go. I am on a computer all day for work

Any ideas would be appreciated
Thanks
Lynn

    Hi Lynn,

Do you take any pain relief. Also have you tried ice?

I use ice quite a bit on my hands, not that I want too much in this weather but it does work.

I have JIA though so I know it can be different but it's worth a try.

    Sally.

Hi, I have severe OA in my hands and have just discovered Nioprene gloves and they help a great deal with the pain and the cold, they are made from the same material as wet suits and whilst they are supportive to my joints they also help to keep them warm which i find also eases the pain................
