Hi Elna
I suppose we can't expect our new knees to be like our previous knees (before we lost them to OA). I expect there will come a time when knee joints will be replaced with stem cell technology. Probably long after I've departed this planet!
Chilli was lovely. I even went to do a bit of food shopping with OH last night. He didn't want me to go because he thought it would be too much. I managed it ok but didn't wander down too many aisles.
Rest if you need it Elna - your body is catching up with the sleep you lost. I'm definitely feeling more lively. Knee still pulls at bit but sleepin has improved greatly.
I can't believe it's Friday already. OH has had to go to London so I'm coping on my own today for the first time.

You WILL be able to tend your plants. You must be patient, something that I am not too good at.
Yes, I can kneel on the first operated knee but it is not that comfortable for too long. I wish I could sit down on the floor with both knees bent right under me (ie bum on ankles ) but I don't think I shall ever be able to do that ever again.
I am the window cleaner around here  and I hate it! :x They always look ok after I think I have cleaned them, which is not that often anymore, I hasten to add and then the sun comes out and they look awful!!
I hope you are sleeping better now. Recently, I am, but still waking a few times but not in really bad pain. As I am doing more now, I am finding that I am getting more tired in the day, which is a little annoying!
Enjoy your chilli tonight!
Nearly the weekend, the weeks seem to fly past!
Love

Hi Joan
I enjoy walking. My TKR will be 3 weeks old on Monday. My walking is very slow at the moment but with each day I get better. I did wonder if kneeling would be difficult.
I managed to put a sock on my operated leg this morning - it's not on perfectly but it's on and I haven't been able to do that in nearly 2 years!!
Take care.

Dear Sharmaine
Enjoy your day, home alone. I have some dough rising and will soon be making lots of currant buns to freeze. I defrosted both freezers yesterday so hopefully there is a little more space to be able to accomodate them. Good for you going shopping. I shall be walking to the supermarket tonight, going around with the trolley and then hubby will find me and we can go back in the car. I think by next week I shall be riding my bike again. I shall try up the road at the weekend. I feel pretty confident. I am on the exercise bike with resistance now. From then on I shall be able to do a big supermarket shop on my own as I always did before the op and put the shopping in the bike paniers. It is not far to go using the quiet roads and through a little park.
I also did 15 minutes hula hooping today which was good to get back to that again.
I am not sure what I am doing at the weekend yet but I hope you enjoy yours and continue from strength to strength like you are already doing.
We have sun here and I actually pegged some washing on the line today. First time this year!
Love

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.0
