Hi

Had rheumy appoint last Friday after much trying to get urgent app for last 5 weeks having been off work. GP has been pushing as well. Been really fatigued and generalised aching, and problems with my breathing in the last 10 days. Nurse Specialist says I have fibro - which I kinda of already knew - stopped MXT, having already stopped Humira 5 weeks ago - could not suggest anything. Had chest x ray and told to call on Thurs and then see the specialist in 9 weeks.... I am so frustrated and feel fed up and awful, oh she did get me to complete a depression scale - telling me to be honest (I work in the field of mental health and use HAD scales on a regular basis), she then said she did not think I had been honest - either that or I was super woman!!!!! GP today tried to get results of x ray, but not been reported - will call when he gets results, now on inhaler, but I know it's not asthma, GP suggested possible fibrosis???? Any ideas???? What next??? Sorry just feel like I have moaned on, but guess it helps getting it off my chest.. Oh - no sign of infection?

Thanks for listening
Hazel x

    Oh Hazel.
what a rotten time you are having...I am so sorry you are going through all of this and having to wait yet again to see the specialist.

It's good you have a supportive GP though, who's not slow to push for results so I hope you get some answers soon.

Just wanted to send you some hugs ((())) until the helpline peeps are back tomorrow to answer your post. Iris x

    Hi Hazel
Sometimes all we can do is listen and be there for people to let off steam and get things off their chest.
Maybe now is not the time to think about going back to work but to think about looking after yourself and your health. I can understand how fed up you feel with this situation but don't let the frustration build up - allow it to take up only a small part of your day. I know you work in mental health so you know all this but sometimes its easier to help other people than it is to help yourself !
I hope you get your x-ray result soon and that what ever it shows eases the anxiety and uncertainty. Your GP sounds good and maybe he can push for you get a rheumy appointment earlier if necessary.
Hazel, I don't think I can come up with any more treatment ideas but if you want to talk about how things are for you please ring us on the freephone number.
    Best wishes
    Val

Many thanks for your support. Sometimes, as you say, it is good to get things off your chest. Thankfully I have a wonderful husband who is really understanding.
Will let you know how things go re the x-ray etc.

This forum has been really useful whilst I have been off work - helps to know you are not in isolation with this rotten problem.
