    Hi Chris
Thanks for your reply. How are you today? Yes, you must go and get seen by OS. I think most people would have to admit to putting up with things, I think we all just tend to get used to the pain until it becomes just a normal everyday thing. Please don’t leave it till its too late. I could have had it done 2 years ago and maybe got away with the resurfacing, but because of leaving it too long, now have to have full replacement. Not only that, apart from the dodgy knees (as in your case), my left hip is only good for 2 – 4 years, so unless the right one is done, I’ll be scuppered in a few years time.
And yes, I do agree with you, this forum is fantastic for advice and help from all the great people on here who take the time to share their own experience and help others who are not quite sure on which way to go, or even where to go for advice. Who better to advise us than those who have gone through it themselves. Lovely people.
So Chris, get yourself to an OS and take it from there.
Thank you, and thank you to everyone else who has replied and given great information and advice.
I hope everyone who has had hip op (in replies above) are feeling well today, let me know how you are doing please.
    Take care, love Jay x

I just read out to my husband the bit about donating the bone they discard. He looked at me and said "who to, the surgeons dog"??? but seriously, What do they do with it? How do they use it then?

    Hi again!
Posting this link about bone donation.

    Hi again Pennie,
Very interesting. I would be more than willing to donate, but not sure if I can because of the conditions. I had a blood transfusion when I had my thyroid out and I've also had hepatitis (not sure if A or B, cant remember), but I will ask about the donation anway.
Thank you, I never knew of this before.

Jay now I am spooked
Have you been reading my notes?
The physio I saw recently who had seen my x rays mentioned resurfacing in the same breath as maybe I should see an OS. Those pesky bony spurs giving me grief. I pretended not to hear her and seeing the sheer terror and panic in my face she let it go. The hydro and physio I know is only a short term fix.
Thank you I think maybe it is time to bite the bullet and see a consultant sooner rather than later. My doc, is pretty useless but coming from you believe me I am listening and taking note. Thank you again. I really hope all goes well for you and will be looking out for your posts.

    Chris xx
