Hi again,Well it's been over a week since the systemic steroid jab and still no noticable pain relief. :( Tried to ring the rheumy nurse today but she's on holiday till next Monday and my Gp is in hospital having an op so can't get further advice from them.Pain and stiffness been awful today, took me an hour to get out of bed and get dressed and then couldn't lift the kettle to make a cuppa!I read on here that lots of you are prescribed steroid tablets and are on them for quite long peroids of time so I don't know why my consultant won't prescribe them for me as I did tell him how well they worked for me last year even though I only took them for one month.Neither of the two steroid jabs I've had done recently have worked and I can't see the point of having another done.I don't see the consultant again until end of July and it's only then he will decide whether to add something else to my meds. Can't go all that time so I am hoping the rheumy nurse will be able to contact him to ask what the next step is and whether he will prescribe the tabs. as a 'fix' until I see him.Off to take some Tramadol(they don't seem to work either!!). Breane.x

    Hi Breane,

I am sorry it hasn't helped you and well I have a lot in my back and neck and it is hit and miss for the neck but the lumber is never effective. I really hope you can get something sorted and sending you a ((( ))) and a shed load of hope they can come up with something for you that will help. Cris x

    hi
sorry to hear ur in pain, the steriod injections didnt work for me either.

If tramadol do not work and you feel really bad ask for a painkilling patch called butrans, it works wonders.

Ring the consultant's secretary/assistant and ask for a message to be passed to him/her. That's what I would do.

    Oh Breane

    I am soooo sorry :(

You have to get back to them and ask for help - satrt with the rheumy nurses. This cannot go on. Remember - the caravan seaon is nearly here

Let us know how you get on
