I have been feeling extremely unwell for the last few months and decided to do some research because the symptoms I was suffering from didn't seem to be associated with OA or RA.
I was WRONG.
I thought I would post this message just to let anyone else who has similar problems know the results which might be helpful to them.
There is an auto immune disease associated with RA called SJOGRENS SYNDROME (pronounced Showgrens).
The main symptoms are an EXTREMELY dry mouth, dry eyes and terrible fatigue plus feeling very, very HOT and sweating profusely. It is difficult to swallow sometimes and your voice becomes "hoarse".
Hot feet with a pins and needles feeling and many other side effects are also present.
It is all to do with certain glands not working. These glands produce saliva and other water based secretions. In other words, you dry up everywhere!!!
I was hot because I was completely dehydrated!! Drinking lots of water seems to have helped a lot.
I haven't put a link here as I am not sure how to do it but there are many web sites on the internet about it.
I hope I haven't mentioned something that everyone already knows about. It has been a relief to me to know that at least it is a recognized condition and not a product of my fertile imagination. And most of all, that I can try and help myself now.
Hope this post is a little helpful to some.

Thanks Steph,
Sorry you have been unwell lately.
I must say I get a very dry throat. I have to carry a drink with me everywhere. If I ever forget it I go into a panic. I just cant swallow and OH has to go to a shop quick to buy one.
I dont get hot though.
It is good to share any info linked to auto immune diseases.
All the best

I'm already query Sjogrens, Steph..........but I think I have it.....
I'm given the impression that there is no specific treatment for it, they just do what they can to alleviate the symptoms. I have eye drops and mouth sprays and both help.
I know it would help more if I could drink more, but I find this very difficult to do........if I'm not actually thirsty, I just forget! Also all my drinks have to be a little above room temperature - I can't drink anything cold. Even if I am thirsty sometimes I just can't be bothered with heating up water for me.........I'm naughty.
