Val, I had this problem all last year, with my BP, and I think the fact that it`s all over the place just proves that stress plays a helluva part. The minute I saw the monitor, it shot up, even though I felt calm.

My GP eventually put me on medication, and keeps a regular check on it. Hopefully, yours will do the same. No big deal.......Much love......Ange.

    Hi Val

I fought against going on meds for bp. My bp would seem to be ok and then there would be a few blips, no rhyme or reason for it - on the gps suggestion I purchased a monitor and took a reading each day for a few weeks. We both decided that it was time to go on meds and as Angie says, it is no big deal. The only side effect is perhaps weeing a little more in the hour after taking this minute pill, Bendro something or another.

I daren't even do mine at the moment. I know it is high because my head tells me so.

O gosh, I am fed up with all these health issues.
I am on Doxosozin 10 mg in the morning and Candisarton 24 mg in the evening.
I think my last reading was 174 over 89, which is normal for me.
So it's not surprising I have an aneurisym. It's only since I have been on preds that there seems to have been a problem.

Hi Val, I also was told to get a home monitor and my bp was normal every time. My gp has put me down as white coat syndrome! It's true everytime a nurse or dr.come anywhere near me my bp shoots up.
might be worth a try, but dont mess about if you think you have a problem.

    Hi Val,

Yeh my BP goes up when I get it checked at the doctors. I have to keep my BP low because of my brain aneurysms, and I think RA might up it (i.e. in a flare) also some of the meds - I take Leflunomide and that can increase it.

My GP has me on BP meds, like all tablets didnt want to take them, but really it is important to keep the BP controlled.

Because I very much have "white coat syndrome" - i.e. my BP goes up when doctors nurses take it. I bought a BP machine and I took it in to my practice nurse who checked it was reading ok etc. She measured my BP on my machine then hers. Now I take in blood pressure readings to my GP. as well as getting it taken at the surgery when I have my monthly blood tests (on methotrexate too)
then he works out the average.

That is cheap Val!! The one my gp recommnded was the one that you strap around your arm, not the wrist. If you do get one, check the readings tally with the one your gp uses.

I agree with Elna. My GP recommended the machine that wraps around your arm. The chemist at my pharmacy recommended a good one and they service it every couple of years.

My BP is high but that's under control but the diastolic reading won't be controlled for some reason so I've worn a 24 hour monitor twice in the last 6 months. Strangely the reading are highest early evening. My BP is age related and nothing to do with RA.

It was well under control but the meds gave me an awful cough but the replacement just doesn't appeat to be as effective. I do need to get them to sort it out as the headaches I get are chronic.
i feel for you i feel ok so if not had it taken would never have known it could be the naproxen doing mine it one of the side affects on the box
