Hi All,
I am a little bit concerned i am feeling really exhausted recently my joints are hurting a dull pain but my mussells also seem really weak the top of my arms feel week and hurt to just lift from one position to another.
Im not sure if this is my RA or somthing else because we have a friend up at the moment whos an army medic who thinks i should see my gp to check everythings ok and not another illness...
Im just wondering if anyone else has had any smilour experiences?
thank you

Hi Madness,
I am having blood test just now for RA, I have OA, but I started to have more joint pain then usual, and have quite bad muscular pain, I am still waiting for the results.
Sorry I am not much help, I do hope you feel better very soon.

RA can leave you feeling very achey and weak all over. There's also a condition called Fibromyalgia, maybe you've heard of it. Of course, it's always important to get any new symptoms checked out by your GP or rheumy.0

Hi, I think that the only way you will be able to put your mind at rest is to go and see your GP and talk to him. Otherwise you will keep wondering and looking up things that are not at all likely. Been there, got the T-shirt!

Hi
I get very achey arms and shoulders. Like a toothache feeling. I dont have it all the time but when I get a flare up it makes an appearance.0 -
Hi Madness,
I have RA and my muscle are weak. I can't lift my arms as they hurt too much. I also have lupus and fibromyalgia which attacks all pressure points particularly top of arms and shoulders. I also have other muscle weakness (thighs).

Hi, I really think it needs checking as already said.
I had severe joint & wide spread muscle pain for over 2 years.
I got dx with OA first then on seeing the pain clinic i got dx with Fibromyalgia. The Fibro makes all your muscles ache, feel like yourve pulled them even when your resting & also affects your tendons & ligaments.Mine affects the muscles in the back of my legs, tops of my knees, shoulders & all along my arms.Even the muscles in my bum hurt it i sit wrong  I also get fatigue, sometimes feels like ive run a marathon when all ive done is walk from one room to another. & just feel like i could sleep forever, if only the pain would let me.
As said it could be any of the Arthritis related things but best to get it checked incase you need a change in medication to help you with the pain.
I hope you can get it sorted & feel better soon.

I've just had another thought....if your joints are stiff and painful, you're probably not using them properly and are compensating with other parts of your body.0

Hi I've just had a thought, it may be that physio can help. If you are putting strain on muscles (as princess suggests)and they are complaining, it could be that some physio exercises could build up the muscle to help the joint out. I've got some for my 'core stability' to build up my tummy muscles to help the back and they do help, not compleatly of course but enough to make them worth doing.
Your GP can refer you, so if you go and ask about your arms, you could sort of suggest physio.
Good luck and hope you soon feel better able to cope.

Hi all,
Thanks for replies. I ahve physio every week .. oen of my weekly appointments nothing seems to be helping . I have to see my rhmy in May about it as my GP is more worried about my other problems0 -
Hi,I have been experiencing really bad achey pain in my shouders and especially the top of the arms down to the elbows.Had this for about a year now and I thought it was due to the RA but my GP said it could be a tear in the muscle.I have an appointment soon at the physio dept at my local hospital and they are going to assess me.The pain stops me from lifting my arms high,as soon as I try and lift them, the pain shoots in.Pain killers havn't worked so perhaps physio will.
