As this is my final battle with the DLA, before tribunal. My fourth lot of letters have gone off today, appealing against their recent decision, with supporting letter from Drs. I have written to my Consultant, as he will be fuming that they are making me go through hoops, to get a small increase in my care allowance. MY GP is none too pleased either. Just wanted some extra digits crossed and I will let you know the outcome. If I have to be grilled in front of the panel, then so be it, they will have to deal with a dithering wreck.

Fingers crossed for you! It seems so unfair that you have to fight so hard for what you're entitled too though.

I wish you good luck for your DLA, getting a higher allowance for care. I am on lower for care, although i rely alot on hubby, and higher for mobility which goes towards my car. I had the pensions people come to see me the other day, they wanted me to go for the middle care. I thought about it, and knowing how the DWP work , as an ex civil servant, and the thought of going through all the medical again, i thought i would stay with what i get, the lady from the pensions agreed with me its not about people these days, just figures and targets to be met. Luckily i am just sixty now, although do not feel it, so i do not think they would take me of it and try and get me back into work, after all they made me retired on health grounds in the first place. Also i meant to tell you i also did nursing some time back, but had to finish in the end due to back and then neck problems even though i only worked in clinics.
Again good luck with the DLA.

Thank you all so much for your support and kind words. It means a lot when you know there are people who actually care and are suportive.
I was retired from nursing, due to heart problems, having had two heart attacks before the age of 40, they didn't want me keeling over on duty. The OA now has a firm grip and is just as limiting as the heart condition.
I know that the DWP has its targets to meet and that we are just numbers, not people.

    Hello,
Good luck with the appeal. Its unbelievable that people are treated so badly. I'm appealing about esa, without a lot of hope. The way things are phrased on the forms makes me feel like a criminal, I often wonder if its worth it, but we have to make them do their job, not just lie down and give in. Thats whats keeping me going, being sheer, bloody minded.

I wish you all the luck in the world and hope you get what you need. I love to hear when someone's won, its like winning a silly game.
    Good luck, love Sue xxx

    Hi Sue

I wish you good luck with your appeal, this one of the things that used to get my back up, when people are genuinely not fit for work, these so called doctors who do the medicals i am sure they are told to pass only so many, but of course you cannot prove it. I wrote on behalf of someone i know to get there ESA put back into place. I wrote to their mp also their jobcentre, i mean she is so unfit for work yet the doctor said she had to apply for jobseekers, i think some doctors need to retake their exams. I wrote because i have been retired from the jobcentre, i am now a stress counsellor, at least i got her some money back. Good luck, keep on to them, get your gp and mp involved.

    You take care

Thanks Monica, aii, if it isn't one thing, it is another, a right old creaking gate, well not so old actually :) I hope they don't make me go to tribunal, my Consultant would have a fit of the vapours. He is big believer that I should not be stressed out, for obvious reasons and he would tell them in no uncertain terms. If push comes to shove then I would take a welfare rights person or the lovely lady that visits from the carers organisation, who is a really great help.

    just to update -
The welfare rights team have been on the case again, taking notes and offering further advice. Also my Consultant is all guns blazing and will be dictating a lengthy letter today. :x Having looked after me for 15 years plus, I think he knows what he is talking about when it comes to diagnosis and how it affects my daily life.
Any news, I will let you know. :|
