Cancelled OPD appointment

For the third time in 2 years, I have received a letter saying that my routine review appointment in the out-patients department (due today) has been cancelled and re-scheduled for 8 July. As my RA is pretty much under control I only visit the OPD every 6 months or so.

Luckily I am fairly well at the moment but have concerns about the results of my MTX blood results which I was hoping to discuss today.

I am interested to know if I have just been unlucky in having so many appointments cancelled or if this is a universal problem that many of you will recognise.

Please let me know.

Isabel

    Hi Isabel

There are quite a few peeps posting on here of late that seem to be having their appointments cancelled and shifted to a very unreasonable long wait. Perhaps they are targeting you because you are not kicking up a fuss!  Those that do complain, have sometimes, miraculously been found an earlier appointment!

Is there anyone you can call to discuss your Metho blood results?

    Keep smiling :)

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

    Hello Elna

    Thanks for the response.

I can call the rheumatology nurses to discuss the MTX results and will do so if this month's results are also outside the range.

I had heard that review appointments were being cancelled because hospital trusts are having problems meeting the Gov't 18 week targets for new patients and that is why I posted my message on the forum - just to see whether the practice is commonplace across the country.

    Hope you are OK.

    Hi

I have been lucky and not had mine cancelled at all recently. My daughter's paediatric apt was changed for a later time which was annoying but apart from that I have been lucky.

Glad you can at least discuss your results with the rhuemy nurse.

    Take care
