Hello all,
Sorry I havent been on for a while. Been having lots of fun with jaw arthur who has stopped me talking and eating (although he cant stop me shopping).
I've just been started on MTX for the PA and they gave me a steroid injection in the bum . It's been 36hours and I havent really noticed much effect yet - do you know how long they normally take to work?
Thanks very much

Hi Kit,
Nice to see you again but sorry you have been having trouble there. I find the medrone is normally good for me but its sort of over a few days and quite gradual that I feel better. Good luck and I do hope it helps you soon. ((( ))) Cris x0 -
Thanks Cris!
I'll be patient then and wait for it to kick in

Hi Kit,
hope you are ok.....loved your comment about arther not stopping you shoppingbut it also sounds as though you've been having a hard time of it.
arther in the jaw is so painful...I've only ever had that once and I couldn't talk either (family said it was a blessing in disguise ha ha!)
I really do hope the injection works for you.....the systemic one can be very effective for some folks...so I hope you are one of them!
It does take a few days to kick in but the effect lasts longer and reaches more joints than the single joint injections.
let us know how you get on...nice to see you posting. Irisx0 -
Hi Kit,I had a steroid jab done in the buttock two weeks ago and it didn't work.
A few weeks ago I had one done in the shoulder and that didn't work either.I've read on here that the jabs work well for some people but not at all for others so I was one of the unlucky ones.Steroid tablets worked well for me in the past so don't know why the injection didn't.Fingers crossed it will eventually work for you. Breane.
