Just to let you know, if interested, in the saga of my experience of Pathways to Work.

I went to see the Employment Advisor today, I waited 1/2 an hour, then checked I was in the right place and the person I was supposed to see was in. After an 1 hour and the next appointment waiting there with me, I saw the person I was supposed to see walk along the other corridor, looking a different seating area. So I got up and went and said who I was. He had been looking for his clients in one area and we where sitting in another. :x I did say how long we had been waiting and that if he'd looked in the other direction, he would have seen his clients waiting. He appologized and what the heck, I didn't have the energy to make a fuss.

Then he asked what job I was hoping to get and what I'd done about getting it! I just had to laugh, I explained that the last couple of weeks, I've been to the hospital or doctor at least once a day for tests and consultations. He looked shocked and asked why I was there. When I explained about the medical, and failing it he couldn't believe it and asked if I was sure!!! Anyway, he has deffered the case for 3 months and told me I should have phoned in sick! Also, if I am no better next time I'm due to go, to ring him and he'll deffer it again. So thats the situation at the moment.

Love Sue

so sorry you had a wasted journey again, but at least he sounds like he is a little bit sensible, though if he can't find his clients I wonder :? :?

As an ex civil servant i have to agree with you all, i have said for a long time people are not treated on an individual basis, we all have differing problems, no, everyone is seen as a potential number/target whom that civil servant has got back into work. There are some very good ones out there i dare say, but because of time, and the all important targets they are hard to find. I am glad i left when i did , or rather made redundant on health grounds because i would have had the sack by now anyway, i disagreed with alot that went on, and if most are honest they do to, but are frightened to speak out. Stck up and speak out for yourselfs, because if you dont, they certainly will not.
