Hi

Hi Only49
I have OA in neck and back. I have bad flare ups with my neck, not so much with the back. I cannot turn my head very well most times, but if i have a flare up i can hardly move it at all. I have headaches , my face can go numb, i feel sick, also have hot sweats. I think you will find others on this site will write and say the same. So do not worry you are not on your own.
Take care

yes from me as well. have you had blood test for inflimation ??? do you suffer joint stiffness, only ask because after thinking i had oa for couple of years found out have inflimation arthers as well (same meds). so if it keeps on happening and you r worried ask gp to do blood test will give you an idea of what going on. was real bad other month hips and knees red hot so stiff and painfull could not get in to gp i see so called rhummy as they told me to if things got bad and they did blood test, all clear no inflimation was in bed two days could not move joints but it was oa playing up it hard to tell. good luck hope you do not get to many flare upsval0

Hi
Yes you do have flare ups with OA I have it in several joints and my GP gave me extra meds i.e. Naproxen for when I have a flare up.

Osteoarthritis responds very well to a Chiropractitioner working with you.
I have been going since before Christmas.
I spoke to my GP about it and he was in full agreement
It has been a painful journey, but I am now feeling very much stronger.
They are able to manipulate the spine to release trapped nerves which are causing the stiffness and related pain. The related pain which occurrs in your muscles will respond to cold and hot pads and eventually calm down.
It is unfortunate, though, that we cannot get this treatment on the NHS. You could always ask if yours has a Chiropractitioner.
Physio work could help, but not Osteopath apparently. Too harsh.
