work focussed interviews

I have asked to attend a work focussed interview and I don't trust them one bit. Anyone who watched the documentary trying to get people off benefits and into work through one of government funded agencies will agree. The young guy clearly had a problem with his back, no way was he faking it. I have told my son to stay away from these people at all costs.
I struggled to get my DLA increased and my finances were a right mess and I am terrified to say the least. They might claim it's to help you find work to make life better/ more positive but I see it as a medical through the back door. If they reckon they can get away with it they will recommend DLA is reassessed as they did with that young guy. There are many people who do not have health problems who can't find work - my brother was out of work for over a year despite working non stop in the building trade for over 25 years. He didn't have medical issues to work around. Until the government stop being unfair to people I will never trust them. They think we are dumb.

Hi
is your interview for claiming ESA? I know what you mean, it's a total farce. They say that cancer patients can go to work and override the medical profession completely in their opinions as to whether you are fit to work. It's disgusting the way the govt think they can treat us. Do we want to be in constant pain? No! Did we ask to be ill? No. So why do they treat us with contempt?
I just hope that the advisor is a little sympathetic and has some understanding of arthritis. If they try to get you to do bar work or call centre work then the answer is they haven't a bloomin clue. But you know, I would reject every job they ask you to apply for, based on aggravating my illness, not sure how that would go down.
Good luck, let us know how you get on.

I was so worried about my work focused interview, however, I struck lucky and the guy that deals with me is amazing, he has said if I am too unwell to attend ring him and he will rearrange the interview date.
Tell them how you feel, that you cant spend too much time there as the pain is too bad etc!
Good luck!0
