is there any link between arthritis and diabetes

i have ra and am being tested for diabetes.

    Hi Gemma
    There is a link between RA and Type 1 Diabetes in that they are both auto immune conditions. Diabetes can also be a side effect of long term steroid use which many people with RA have taken.
    It could be that your doctors are just being particularly efficient and testing routinely.

    i have had some symptoms lately like essesive thirst, going to the loo alot and i dont seem to heal well
