Hello Everyone,
I hope you are all well, I thought that I would update you on my first rheumy appt . You were all so kind a few weeks ago advising me as to what could happen.
Well it did not take as long as I thought. I saw the Occupational Nurse, who took down details about my pain stiffness etc, she looked at my hands, then wrote down a few notes. Then she gave me the forms to go to have blood tests and x rays on both hands and feet.
These were done whilst I was there at the hospital.
I was then given an appt for 5 weeks time and off home I went!
It took about 45 minutes in all. What fun eh!
Best Wishes
Lynda

Glad things are on a roll.45 mins for check, blood tests and x-rays was pretty good. Let us know how things turn out and try not to worry. It will be a relief for you to find out what is happening.

    Dear Lynda

Thank you for updating us on your appointment. We like to know outcomes and when peeps are referred the first appointment is quite often done differently depending on what part of the country you live. Five weeks is not too long a wait for the results in this day and age  :) and let's hope they keep to that date and you see a rheumi on your next visit. I hope you call in before 5 weeks :) but if not we would like to know how you get on with the second visit.

    Love
    Elna x

    Hi Lynda,

Well that sounds like it will be helpful for you once the results are back in. I really hope it goes well for you in 5 weeks and as the others say please let us know. Its always slow to begin with as they need to have a good idea whats going on before they commit them selves. Hope your ok with it all though? Cris x

    Hi Val,

Its odd cus like you I have ever had my wrists, elbows or shoulders x-rayed yet they tell me I have pa in all of em....... I think they are very good at interpreting clinical signs eh? x

Glad to hear your appointment went OK. I had my first Rheumy appointment in early February and got my results by beginning of March. I also had x-rays and bloods done with a result of Generalized Osteoarthritis, pretty much everywhere.

Hope you get a diagnosis, I think the worst part is not knowing and Ive been able to deal with things alot better now I know what is causing all my pains.

Hope you get your results soon.

Hello, Glad you had a good appointment. Getting the x-rays done is one more thing out of the way. 3 months ago I had my hands done, last week I saw the rheummy, she ordered blood tests, then several days later I had an appointment to have my shoulders and feet done, I've been back and forwards like a yo-yo   Hopefull, when you go back in 5 weeks, they might have some useful information for you.

    Take care, Love Sue xx
