I've been to my GP because my asthma has got worse, I have to come off my anti-inflammatories. Some people with asthma can be on celebrex but I'm one of those who can't. I'm super frustrated because it's the only thing that's actually helping right now. :? Is there anyone here who copes with their arthritis without taking an anti-inflammatory?

Hi Princess,
You are not having an easy time of it are you? I'm sorry you have this to worry about
I'm not on anti- inflammatories because they weren't doing anything for me and arther.
I'm on Anti tnfs (Humira at the moment) and Mtx and the usual pain killers. I suppose it depends on what kind of arther you have what meds they can substitute if you now can't be on celebrex any more?
don't know if that helps any.... Iris x0 -
My heart goes out to you. 14 mnths ago I had a stomach ulcer caused by anti-inflams. So no more of them for me - since then nothing I have tried has sorted the problem. Latest was Leflunomide in addition to MTX. Blood pressure went mad, even with bp tabs, so that was stopped. I am now only on MTX and hydroxychloroquine. Inflamation raging, but cannot get Rheumy appointment until 26th April. Dr has written urging earlier appt. but no news yet. If you find a solution - please let us know. I do hope things improve very quickly for you. Keep us posted,

Thank you for the replies.
Toni I'm not sure about pineapple to be honest. I do like it, so I'm sure it couldn't hurt. Maybe I could take it only when I desperately needed it, instead of every day.
Iris Nope, not having the best time right now, I'm hoping for things to perk up a bit soon. I think my rheumy will probably change my meds. He mentioned methotrexate, if that controls the arthritis, maybe I won't need the celebrex.
Jane I'm sorry you're having trouble too. That's awful that you have to wait so long for a rheumy appointment, surely they have spaces for an emergency!0
