Ugh I think I've got 2 little ones on my right elbow, came up yesterday.
Is this really bad news? I just keep reading everywhere on the internet that they signify 'severe destructive RA'.
I'm really depressed now. Have my second rheumy app in 2 weeks, was feeling quite positive but now am back to feeling awful.

I read similar things about nodules (basically if nodules came up then it was curtains for you sort of thing!!)
I had a huge one come up on my elbow, grew quite huge, got nicknamed 'the second elbow'. I would joke about it , as to be honest what I'd read about nodules was depressing!
Over the winter it started to reduce in size, now it's down to large baked bean size rather than half a boiled egg!
So for 2 years it grew, in 3 months it reduced!
Hope yours does summat similar!0 -
i don't know a great deal about them but i had a nasty one on my finger joint that was causing my finger to dislocate slightly when i bent it, but rheumy injected steroid directly into the joint and within days the nodule had all but gone and had no further problems!

thanks guys, hopefully mine will shift too. they're not sore thankfully, but my vain streak doesn't want to be covered in wart-type things, ugh.lol very sexy for my beach holiday next month!!
Toni, i'm just trying to keep going, thanks for asking! Been feeling pretty down and sore this week and it's hard to concentrate at work, but I'm just counting down the days till the appointment and hopefully some treatment. Sigh. Hope you're alright!x

Hi, I don't like the picture of you covered in warts and boils! I'm sure nothing like that will happen!!! Be careful about reading things on the internet, their is a lot of good stuff, but also a lot of rubbish and knowing which is which can be hard. I know from experience! The best sites are the boring, British ones, they carry much more medically correct information. You'd never believe all the things I've had! I did offer to take the computer down to the surgery and help clear the queues, but she never took me up on that!!!

Hi Sue! Sorry to give you that image, try thinking about a nice fluffy kitten instead??lol
I totally agree about the internet. It's a blessing and a curse. If I didn't have the internet I wouldn't know all the horrible facts about RA and would be a lot less worried about the future and medications not working. But at the same time I'd be a lot less proactive about getting treatment and also helping myself. I'm really bad for over-researching things, reading too many medical journals and generally freaking myself out. I need to stop but not sure how to kick the habit! Hope you're feeling well today x0 -
