Hello everyone.
I've only popped in now and again over the past year or so due to all sorts of time consuming things.
So, I'm hoping to catch up with some old friends and to ask you to forgive me for not replying when you've 'talked' to me on threads. Its partly because I've not been here but also because I can't get 'posts since last visit' to work because I get logged out each time I leave. Hence I haven't always seen the replies.

Now, skezier, lindalegs, joanlawson, elnafin, scottishlass, wonkylegs .... and many others whose names I can't find .... HOW ARE YOU? Love to hear from new folks too.
Briefly, I have RA, probable osteoporosis and macular disease, and I'm an artist and a bookkeeper, have 2 dogs and 3 cats ..... oh and a long suffering OH

When you get the time please let me know how you are all getting on. :D

Take care and hope to hear from you all soon - Fay xx

    Hi Fay

How you doing? I am ok thank you, getting back to normal after having my second TKR in two years. All good fun :lol: Still calling in on here most days as I have been doing for the past 3 years or so. I am looking forward to the better weather and pottering in the garden and allotment. Life is ok at the moment. I hope it is ok for you too.

    Luv
    Elna x
The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

:D Good to hear from you Elna. Sorry you've had to have 2 TKRs in such a short space of time, but hopefully you are more mobile as a consequence.

Agree about the weather, we're due a 'proper' summer after the past 3 years wash-out. We also grow a lot of veg in our garden, good luck and fingers crossed for your allotment.

    Take care, Fay xx

    Hi Fay,

Oh we are over due a decent summer.... five years late now i think :lol::lol:

Hope BJ is home and doing ok? I still think that made my day!

I used to do almost 3 acres of veg, then had to cut it back to 1 and now can't really did at all...... You'd think this lot could help eh? Mind Slipper Boy the loopy dog does a fair bit of digging but he isn't so good on rows :lol: He's a spaniel x collie and hell is he demented!

Its nice to see you again and glad to see your still painting. I still having all out war with my body and just now I think its got the upper hand but I do a half decent siege :lol::lol: Yo take care and this lot send slurps and meows to you and yours ((( ))) luv Cris who is sort of leaning towards another pup :D x

:D Nice to see you Cris. I'm sorry you are unable to manage gardening any more but I imagine facing 3 acres in need of work is pretty daunting and likely to put off even the fittest.
I'm also sorry to hear you are obviously struggling with the wretched arthritis, but hey ...... I love your 'I'll just get on with it' attitude, good for you.

I don't know what I'd be like without all the animals to force me to keep going, mind you, the crocked lab having thrown up under the desk overnight, one cat on steroids, the others bringing in live mice and releasing them behind the cooker ..... am I barmy???

Now then ..... when's that pup arriving eh? ....

    Hi Fay

I'm doing pretty well all things considered thanks :)

Arthur is behaving himself quite well. he stuck my jaw shut for a while over christmas and new year, but that was fair enough! minor flares not worth worrying about so i am happy :)

I Pmd Scottishlass a while back as i had mised her and she said it was coz all was well and she was busy working kids etc.

It IS good to see you and i hope I see more of you now you're back

    Love

Awww, thanks for your reply Toni. Ouch :x about the jaw, that is horribly painful.
Otherwise you sound good and very positive :D

I'll look forward to seeing you around. Working this morning and I was planning on clearing a few more weeds this afternoon in preparation for planting out in a month or so, BUT its now piddling down so I think I'll head to my studio (teensy summerhouse  ) and try to fix a painting I'm not happy with.
    Wish me luck

    Hi Lynn

Great to meet you and thanks so much for welcoming me back.

Ah, now then, I think we need a separate forum to chat about our animal companions!!!! We have 2 rescues - a staffie cross, and a little bitza hound!!!
Good for you giving these little guys a home. I'm fed up with seeing so many poor little staffies in rescue simply because their looks caused them to fall into fashion with some brainless twerps. :x

You're probably right about the separate forum though.

Hello Debs, great to see you. I get confused when people change their 'handles', but I'm easily confused.

Good for you for taking a Pyrennean rescue. I've never known one of these dogs but I understand like some of the other big breeds they are gentle giants. I guess 11 is quite old for this breed as well.

I'd love to hear more about him/her and you, see you around.

    Hi Fay,

Sorry I am running on a delay jut now :lol: If I my eyes are working the connection wont :lol::lol:

How is the lad doing? Well I hope.

Spent the morning in the eye ward again, I think I might be picking up a rent book soon  They tell me mtx will help........ thats 2 other departments now saying get the Rumo to stick me with mtx..... so he hasn't got any pressure poor guy :lol::lol: I must try not to be too keen........:lol::lol:

My mates got pups...... lot of money but I have taken a shine to one :D I think I will wait a bit and see whats going on with my eyes and then go get another springer...... Though you have a different type don't you now? The pups are cooker crosses (designer ones though) and well I sort of iffing about a pup and have got a few feelers out for an older rescue springer again...... He will not be able to lead one as far astray as he can a pup..... She mite him of course :lol::lol:

I tell you what you really need is a lamb..... now they are so tempting at the mo! Again I got to wait and see how bad my eyes are going to get and well then I might try and find a self shearer..... the old breeds do that, or one fitted with a zip :D

You take care and don't be gone so long this time! You have been told :lol::lol: ((( ))) and a giant slurp from the dogs as well as meows and baas from the rest  Cris xx

Ahhh Cris, good to hear from you again. :D

I may have missed something, but what is this thing with your eyes? Is there a diagnosis and what's happening?
Some time ago I was prescribed lefluzomide (I think that's the spelling) and that can have dodgy effect on the eyes. It was withdrawn because I was found to have macular disease and that drug would exacerbate it.
Although you sound so cheery and brave, I think you are suffering more than you're letting on.

As for designer pups, I hate the latest fad for labradoodles, cockadors and all that nonsense. A rescue springer in need of a friend would be magic, but I can very much understand the lure of a sweet little cocker-cross pup :D:D

(((hugs))) from me, the old reprobate BJ (lab), crackpot Alfie-Blue (cocker) and Polly, Jenny and Biggles (hooligan and multi troublesome puss-cats) xxx

I tried to add to my last post, but it went wrong  .

Back to the vets with BJ tomorrow and fingers crossed he's doing OK. He's also got to be investigated because he's drinking too much. :(

As for lambs ...... uumm, I'm not sure I could manage that ..... anyway, they have to be sent off and ..... gulp .... eventually eaten don't they?

    Hi Fay,

Oh mine went no where!:lol::lol: They are all 10 now and my eldest I had to pts cus of arthritis and she was 12....... They never had lambs cus I would have had to kept them :lol: and well I became a veggie the first time I feed one a bottle :lol::lol:

So not such a good small holder eh?:lol::lol:

I will keep my fingers crossed for BJ and his visit tomorrow, is that his first post op check up? Hey do you have t have him in a small area fr a while? Slipper Boy had suspected Crucates when I first got him but 'thankfully' it was 'just' his splint bones haven't attached...... He was caged though and I was told to keep him quiet....... Ever seen a tornado in a bottle?

These are designer ones Cokerpoos....... I wish they didn't though but seems the in thing. We have a lot of rescue Dolly's (Dalmatian/Collies) coming into rescues cus well what a cross eh?!

Ah Fay I shall be ok eventually........ Just its all flaring all over the place just now. Might get easier now though cus I just managed to changed doctors :D:D:D

You let us know how he gets on tomorrow please? Luv and a ((( ))) Cris xx

Oh reading about your eyes means he will go for mtx without too much prompting then? I will grovel else  You look after those eyes as well flower x

Thanks for replying Hileena, its great to meet you. :D
Sorry you've had to have a THR, horribly painful. It must be scary after having one and knowing what's ahead, to be facing another.
Very best wishes for a speedy recovery from this one and a quick date for the next.
Hopefully once you've gone through all this, you will be not only mobile, but in far less pain. Let us know how you get on please.

Best wishes, hope to hear from you soon and (((hugs))) Fay xx

I've been out such alot lately socialising and having a ball :D ....I try to go out as much as I can when I feel well even though I try to not let arthur stop me when I'm not  ...so it's just my hedonistic lifestyle really.:lol:
