Hi, hope that you are all as well as can be expected, I am not too bright at the moment, I had a fall a few days ago and landed on my back, I had a couple of days in hospital but I am beginning to feel a little better.

Now monday and tuesday I can only feel described as exhausted, I feel like this every now and then, the daft thing is that I can't sleep, I have tried everything but usually end up watching tv until 2am, it is all so daft, you would think I could sleep wouldn't you? love Jaspercatxx

Hi, all they keep saying is if I am tired I should be able to sleep, I am already on Amitriptylline, which can make you feel drowsy, don't do that for me though, I have bought some Lavender oil so will try that tonight love Jaspercatxx

    Hi jaspercat,

good to see you posting, but sorry you're feeling so rough. What happened when you fell? if you ended up in hospital it must have been a bad fall.....so I hope you are not in severe pain.

It's really difficult not being able to sleep.....I have problems too and haven't found anything that works for very long. Makes the night very long doesn't it?

take care jaspercat and hope you have a better night tonight. sending you ((((hugs))))

    Hi Jasper

Sorry to hear about your fall - how dreadful! Glad to hear you're feeling a wee bit better.

We so need our sleep and it's no wonder you feel exhausted. Have you tried these things to aid your sleep:

    1. Don't eat after 8.00 pm at night.
    2. Have a warm bath or shower before bedtime. This helps to relax you.
    3. Don't read in bed - keep distractions to the minimum.
    4. Don't watch tv in bed - too distracting.
    5. Make sure your bedroom is dark.
    6. Ensure your room is not too hot.
    7. If all else fails try this yoga technique: relax toes, feet, calfs, thighs, hips, stomach, shoulders, neck, face muscles. Breathe in through the nose and slowly out from the mouth (you can do this a number of times).
    8. Prior to 7 imagine yourself at peace in a very tranquil setting of your choice.

    I hope this helps.

    With regards.

    Hi Jasparcat,

I am totally washed out at the moment. After my hip op in July I was full of energy but over the last few months have started to feel tired most of the time. The only changes are I have stopped Ibuprofen since early March as i had been on it for years and my methotrexate has been increased from 15mg to 20mg since early December.
To make matters worse i dont sleep very well either and keep waking up in the night and not getting back to sleep.
There are quite a few TIRED THREADS on here so I think it must be due to the arthritis.

    Best wishes
    Elizabeth

Hi Dorcas, the problem with me falling s that I have numbness in my feet and legs, I am still waiting for a definite diagnosis, so I can't tell where I am walking etc, I just tripped up and fell flat on my back, they kept me in hospital because I was bleeding from my kidneys, due to the impact.

I am very bruised at the moment, so very sore to sit up or lay on my back, managed to sleep on and off tuesday night still shattered though love Jaspercatxx

    Hi Jaspercat

At Christmas you broke your wrist didn't you?? It was you I think

I suffer with that I feel really tired but cannot sleep so I end up in the cafe posting how I cannot sleep.

The funny part of all is you think you would eventually sleep for hours but you don't.

I still do not understand arthur.

hi Jaspercat sorry to hear you are in discomfort its a vicious circle i know it can be waring trying to be asleep but the tv is not good as its like a stimulant try clearing your mind and focus on one thing ie count to five in you head or a couple of names but just repeat, lots of gentle hugs xxxx it might help ,
