hello all
firstly I have spent the best part of the day crying and I know you peeps will understand why.
two years ago after been diagnosed with RA whilst pregnant I started to have problems with my hips. since then I've been on the meds most joints that affected me have settled and I have been feeling very well in myself, well as good as it gets :of anyway the one thing that continues to bother me is my hips, I had a nasty flare in the summer last year which was hip based so rheumy send me for ultrasound finds nothing! then I have MRI and they find I have tears in the cartilage of the hips, rheumy has sent me to see orthopedic consultant which the appointment was today, with the view that I could have surgery on my hips to repair tears. so here's me thinking I'll get a date for surgery and hopefully get my life back on track...big mistake thinking in advance isn't it. turns out surgeon wants another MRI with dye injected into my hips to decide if the tear is leaking and it can be fixed or if it is in fact my ra causing the problem, which would mean a change in meds.
this gets me on a few levels really, I thought my rheumy didn't think it was my ra causing the problem and am mainly upset because as you peeps know the NHS doesn't work fast so 6 to 8 weeks wait for an MRI if am luckily and another 6 to 8 weeks wait to see the consultant could be 3 to 4 months before I know whats going on. I thought it would be all sorted today, hence the crying of frustration and upset that it not going to be a sorted any time soon argh.
i just want to stop the ride and get off :?
sorry it's long post

Tell peeps you are feeling down about it and need a bit of TLC and spoiling...
SpeedalongI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
Hi Suziev
My heart goes out to. I had a MRI today again on my right side of neck, thoratic part of spine, i hate the things, even though i am lucky and have not ever had to have the dye. Saying that i get fed up with all the messing about, going backwards and forwards all the time, they thought it was my hips at one time, but even though they are arthritic this is not causing the pain in my legs, its the back, but they say its best left alone as there is too much arthritis. So just waiting now to see what they say about the mri affecting my right arm and hand.. But good luck to you.
Take care
