Well I went back to the docs again today & went through the results. AnA was positive but the more specific antibody tests were normal. He said that he would be inclined to leave it for now and do nothing. I then went through my list of symptoms which I had typed up at the weekend, all things that I had been to see him about, he looked at it and agreed. So he is going to do a referral, although he thinks that it may stem from my hop and stomach problems.

It's the waiting game now for the appointment and hopefully a diagnosis, not that I want anything wrong with me. But, I do want to know why I am feeling like this.

    Hi Anne,

what a good idea that was writing down the symptoms you've had over past few months to discuss with the doc
we often say to others to write down what you want to say...but I wonder how many of us do so ourselves.

Great lesson for all how effective it can be being prepared. :!:

Glad your appointment had the right outcome and that now you don't have to wait too long before being seen....also that there's nothing too serious going on.

    Hi Anne

We shouldn't have to justify ourselves to anyone we know our bodies better than anyone and if we say that something is not right surly its just there job to find out what... hope you get the answers you need xxx

I agree with Iris, what a good job you did write a list of all your symptoms, Anne. That swayed your gp to do a referral. We know our own bodies the best but we have to convey the symptoms we are getting to the medics, which is exactly what you did in the form of a list. Let's hope you soon get an appointment and find out why you are feeling like you do.

    I wish you well

    Luv

    Hi Anne,

I also agree with the others and well personally I think gp's are jack of all trades masters of none so to speak so its really good he is sending you to a specialist now. I really hope they don't keep you waiting too long though.

hey how are you getting on apart from the problems? Sending you a ((( ))) and a hope you will soon find out what's going n and get some overdue help. Luv Cris x

    Thanks for all your messages.

My GP is very good and has fought my corner more than once. The problem I think is that he sees so many other patients that all my issues aren't at the forefront of his mind all of the time. Although, everything on the list I had been to see him about I think seeing it all in bullet points got the response I wanted. He is the one that said alarm bells were being triggered and has said that he thinks it could be (another) auto immune or inflammatory arthritis. But, only the ANA is showing positive at the moment.

Funny I don't know what made me sit & type the list on Saturday but, I am so glad I did.
