Treatments other than MTX

A question for you all. I was initially on Sulpasalazine, which didnt work and I got fed up taking SO many tablets per day! I had a break in treatment while under going chemo last year and I am now on MTX, which I feel isnt really working as well as it should be. My dose has just been increased from 15mg to 20mg, so I will see if that helps any.
I found out a few weeks back that I wont be able to take Anti TNF therapy due to the cancer I had last year (all is well by the way, caught early etc)
So...now I am thinking, if MTX doesnt work....what else is there apart from Anti TNF?
Cheers!

Hi
I have tried MTX and it didn't agree with me......am currently on Plaquenil, which is the least toxic of the DMARDs and probably the least effective, so you could try that...its currently not working for me. My Rheumy wants me to try Leflunomide next, not sure about the side effects they sound so scary. I think lots of people on here are taking a combination of things so you may find that you stay on MTX and say add Plaquenil in. Just an idea and I'm sure some other people will be along soon with some more ideas.
Hope that helps.
