All the best with the cider vinegar, Deb! You are right, everyone would take it if it worked 100%. No harm in trying though. I took it for years but it never did me any good, have had 2 total knee replacements,:lol::lol:

Please do let us know if it works for you, it may!

    Luv

    Hi Deb,

I used to take 2 parts cider vinegar and 1 part honey for hay fever years ago .....never worked for that but haven't tried it for RA. I think if these things worked we'd all have been cured years ago and wouldn't take these nasty drugs.

In saying all that some things do work for some people and as the others have said there's no harm in trying ....must be alot of nutrients in it anyway.

If you can stand the taste, then give it a go. I tried it, did nothing and it tastes vile! Even with honey! Maybe I didn't give it long enough to work? Its supposed to be really good for sore throats too

I posted this during January, try the search feature of the forum.

Websites claim apple cider vinegar benefits everything from cancer, osteoporosis, diabetes, obesity, arthritis, migraines, gout, HIV to heart disease, and that it even halts the ageing process.

Three apple cider vinegar marketers warned to curb claims. The FDA (Federal Drugs Authority, USA) has warned three Internet marketers of apple cider vinegar tablets to stop making claims that their products are effective against various diseases.
    http://www.ncahf.org/digest03/03-30.html

The three sets of claims were that:
Suggesting that its products are useful for arthritis, osteoperosis [sic], and sore throats.
Claiming that their pills can relieve arthritis pain, fight infection, fight osteoporosis, control cholesterol, help people with high blood pressure, and relieves sore throats, laryngitis, and nasal congestion.
Suggesting that her pills are useful against arthritis, prostate problems, multiple sclerosis, and high cholesterol levels.

This one has been around a long time.

I believe that different approaches work for different people. What works for some, just has no effect for others. So, for me this next on my list of things to try. Cider vinegar it is, I'll report back in due course and let you know how I got on :-)

My opinion is that these things can't hurt but I wouldn't pin all my hopes on it being a cure. As long as you're still taking your medication and if it helps, then, that's great! :)

Hi kaiser no harm in trying natural remedies (especially the ones that don't hurt your pocket!!) Let us know your verdict.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

I've been 'taking' normal cider for a while and it definately makes me feel better !

Doesn't do a thing for my arthritis but I sure feel good for a short while.

Hi deborahjane. I tried cider vinegar but it did nothing. Different things work for different people, that's the problem! I had the most benefit from rosehip capsules. They helped with the pain but didn't do much to reduce inflammation (I have PA). They stopped working after a while too. It's enough to drive you to drink. And it does. Regularly. I got them from Healthspan, who provide better quality stuff at much cheaper prices than Holland and B. Persevere with the vinegar, foul tho it is. It may not be immediately effective but I have read that Sir Rannulph Fiennes swears by it. Dreamdaisy
