I am on steriods at the moment and I have noticed that I am really late for my period.

Could this be cause of the steriods??

Thanks

They can muck your system up a bit, it may also be the stress of being poorly - however you may want to double check just to set your mind at rest (cheap tests are available at most supermarkets/chemists)

I wouldn't have thought steroids wouldn't mess your periods up but often being ill can and also losing a lot of weight.

I did miss periods in my early thirties when my RA was raging but I also went below 7stone at the same time

You could ask your GP if you're worried.

I thought i'd check properly for you and asked my Dr husband (he occasionally does have his uses  ) He said that it was likely to be a side effect of the steroids or if your illness was causing a lot of weight loss or stress and you shouldn't worry about it but mention it next time you see your dr

hi could you be one of those rare people who going through the menopause early, I am 49 and I got a implant in for birth control and before that I had a jab every 12 weeks and have not had a period since just after my son was born in 1995, I have even got a pregnancy test from the chemist to be sure and it came back negative so I can only presume that I must be heading towards the menopause, but in one way I sorry I wont be able to have any more kids but in away I glad I don't have to go through the pain of periods every month.

How old are you. Mine were gone for a few years then came back every 3 weeks but I am on the jab now so dont have them at all.It is all very confusing!
But this was MTX link I think as only had steriod injections a couple of times.

Just the hot flushes to look forward to then
i think i am going through that already, always seems too hot inside at the moment, men are so lucky they don't have to go through this, I must be so used to how I am feeling now I don't know what its like to be cold, imagine this ..... they say heat for some people helps there arthritis me it just makes me far too hot, so when a good time to use heat or not what a dilemma
