Hi, I have read so many conflicting reports and opinions on Glucosamine and whether it works or not, that I find the subject quite confusing. I,ve decide to give it a try for my OA of the spine. Have been taking now for a few weeks, with no noticable improvement in pain levels. Has anyone had any success with it, and if so how long before it takes effect. :?:

I took it religiously for six months with no improvement but others will tell a different story, everyone is different..

    Hi Kaiser,

Not sure its the same but its used a lot in animals as the prescription drugs do bad things quicker t them cus of size and stuff but my vets say that it works well for general aches and pains, works quite well for stage one oa and helps with stage 2 though some top up is needed with prescription drugs. By stage 3 its not gong to do much. They tend to use cortaflex and cortavet and well that seems to help some of my oa and who knows if it helps the pa or not  Not sure this will help but well but its one of those things that might/might not help. Good luck Cris x

Hi, I took it for about 6 months, but didn't find any difference. Someone I worked with took it, and said she found it very good.

It's worth a try, and it may do some good, after all, drugs that doctors prescribe don't always work for all people and you may be lucky. I told my physio when I was taking it, and she said that people who found it helped had often needed to take it for several months before they felt much effect from it.
