Hi Alan
My fav pies are any my mum in law makes. She is 91 come this October and she is The pastry Queen. 8)
She whisks up pastry from scratch in an inkling, no bother, just like that. It is melt in the mouth pastry and her fruit pies, chicken pies, mince and onion pie, pasties are out of this world. They are crammed with the filling, absolutely no scrimping there.
They are pies to die for
She lives in Pinner

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.
If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

Before I found out I had coeliac disease, I loved:
- Mr Kipling apple, apple and blackcurrant and fruit pies
- Birdseye chicken and vegetable pies
- Birdseye also do those chicken lattice pies which are lovely
I do remember learning how to make pastry at school and my pastry being the best in the class... maybe I should try making my own out of gluten-free flour?
I miss being able to buy something already made and shoving it in the oven :-(

2. Meat & potato
3. Pork pie
None from a supermarket though, a local butcher makes the best.
Anyone ever been to Chester indoor market will know about the pork pies.0 -

My mum used to make the best corned beef pie. I've tried and better tried, but can't make it the same. I would probably go for the mince and vegetable from our local butcher, and for a sweet pie, it has to be banoffee!!
Luv, Lynn xxx
There is another name for that around here. Cows Pie.

You can't beat good home-cooking! Faves are:
Meat & Potato
Corned Beef & Potato
Cheese, Onion & Potato
Lynn (Collywobble) I too like Banoffee Pie - and got my first taste of Key Lime Pie when on holiday in Florida - yummy0 -
Whenever I go back to my hometown in Australia the first thing I do is go to a bakery down the road and get an absolutely delicious steak and mushroom pie with ketchup!
If i can't have the mushroom I ask for the steak and curry which sounds a bit dodgy but takes just as great!
If it's too cold to sit outside the bakery I happily have a picnic in the car just so I don't have to wait until I get home!!
I am nothing if not a class act!!
