Hi, Yes I have successfully claimed DLA, its worth remembering
that they pay it on how the ilness(s) effect you rather than the illness itself, i.e. like do you need assistance with dressing, cooking etc,
My Occupational Therapist supported my application, through the statement on the back, he also assisted me completing the forms.
If you have an O>T> they are a good help because they know how your illness{s) effect your daily life more than a Consultant does.
Also the Citizens Advice are an excellent help.
Good luck/

Hi Wendylou
I have been awarded high mobility and moderate care DLA thanks to the CAB. I advise that you talk to them, they filled in the forms for me, the CAB know the way to express your condition that should mean you get what you are entitled to. REmember fill it in as if you are having your worst day.
Good luck

Oh yes, Wendylou, have certainly been through it, still going through it, fighting for an increase, anyway, that's asside. You are doing the right thing by getting help with the form and as much evidence as you can to support your claim. As has been said, it is not the illness per say, it is how it affects your day to day living and activity and what help / care / support you need on a daily basis and for how long. Wishing you well with your claim..........keep us posted, it can take a while for things to process through  XX BubblesXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0
