    Hi Jenny,

Oh flower back hurt! A ((( ))) and well mine gives me hell but since I was put on pregabalin its not as painful so maybe you could ask about it or its half sibling gabapentin? I find mine actually you broken glass analogy is so good, and also I get it in the lumber as well and it swells and feels grazed externally. I think your doing very well cus keeping it moving is probably one of the best things, be it very painful.

I had surgery long ago and that really helped but the pregabalin was like a huge help when I first got it and still helps 2 years on. I also see the pain clinic regularly and wonder if that could help you as well? A lot of people have ampi what ever they are called to help with sleeping and muscle relaxing so that could help you as well maybe? Think you might be best to see someone cus you might need a change of meds and management? I hope you can get some rest today and have a much better night. Cris x

I have ordered a (serola belt) , it was suggested to me by a friend who has similar problems and it was suggested to them by their physio,, i wonder has anyone here tried them :?: i asked in the chemist and at the GP surgery but they say theyve never heard of them :!: .

i should get it end of the week and will let you know if it helps ... but if anyone already has one please let me know if it has improved your strength in the lower spine areas .. i am still struggling, it's hard to get up and turn over in bed, i'm getting very little sleep, it still feels like broken glass, does this sound familiar to anyone :?:

    Hi Jenny,

your description of back pain is spot on but oh I wish you didn't have such pain :(

I describe nerve pain from the spine as lightning going across the back to the hip and down one leg.....extremely painful. I found heat applied over the back lumbar area helped although some prefer ice packs...

I eventually had a lumbar spinal fusion 8yrs ago and that made a huge difference to me!

I've not heard of the serolabelt....although I did have a lumbar support years ago which had metal reinforcers.
It has to be worth trying this serolabelt and it would be so good if it gave you relief.

I take Amatriptyline 60mg at might to help relax muscles and deal with the nerve pain that the swelling and pressure in the joints causes. lots of other peeps take the same drug so it's worth asking about as lack of sleep on top of back pain is just too much to cope with...
    what investigations have you had?

gentle (((hugs))) and hope you get relief and rest.

    Iris x
