hello when i either over do things or just my knees really hurt, along with the pain i also feel very tired, and when the pain subsides and feels better i feel less tired, is it because of the pain that makes me feel that way?

i have ra and most days round 230 pm i feel like i could go to bed ,i have a hour nap on sofa, cause if i went to bed i would end up staying ther till morning,i think medicaton makes you tired along with pain,it seems if you have been doing something then sit down for a minute you could just fall asleep, you have to pace yourself through the day,it,s not very nice though always feeling tired.i feel like im 90 year old sometimes,im48.0

some days i am 48 today, others 90 . i think the pain and stiffness make sleep patterns get messed up so get up feeling exhausted and just gets worse as day goes on. valval0

Hi Sylvia
I have OA in knee; shoulder and hands. I recently had a total knee replacement done on my left knee and the right knee will be done too. Yes, I think you do tire easily and you will find you need to rest more. I have to pace myself and listen to my body. The medication can make you lethargic first thing in the morning. I generally find that I'm useless until about 10.30 am.
Do you have OA in the knees? I think the effort of just getting about simply takes it out of you. I had to change how I did things and had to cut out shopping totally (unless I was in the wheelchair). I venture out a bit more since I had my first TKR - this past week and have been managing with just one crutch - but it still exhausts me and I have to take lots of tea breaks on the way to my destination.
Take care

Hi Sylvia
Some days I get so tired I stay in because It can be to much trouble going out, I would fight it and on good days get all my jobs done and shopping, trouble is I have overdone it then, but I wont let it beat me, I have this battle with arthur in my head, sometimes I win.
If you look up OA they are not sure what causes the tiredness, whether it be the pain or the amount of energy you use getting around, who knows.
I hope you are feeling less tried today and enjoy the weather.

Hey Barbara
I think you're right regarding the energy - you expend so much of doing things that it tires you out. We went to the town a couple of weeks ago and I had to stop about 6 times there and back. Some days I feel as if I've climbed a mountain!
