Out of the Blue

When I got home from work last week there was a letter from the hospital. It came out of the blue as it was 7 week from the last one. So there I was stood in the kitchen reading this letter then looking at my double sized thumb, then back at the letter.

The results of my blood tests showed my inflammatory markers are back to normal. Wow and double wow. I'm really pleased to say my Liver and Renal tests are normal aswell. :D I am so much better than I was last year and 100 times better than the year before which was horrendous and scary.
I'm so lucky that the meds and injections are doing there job. My thumb went down after a couple of days, and I admit, there are days that I wish I could air brush, and I still get tired but I've stopped falling asleep after tea!! I'm trying to build up my energy back up because I really need the therapy of gardening.

For the newbie's out there, please ignore the time scale of this. I went via the cock up route and then onto the lost record department. So we are only talking months since I started treatment.

Roll on summer, Hugs to all that need them. IX

Thanks Val, I know you have had a bad time of it, especially with your neck. Do hope you get there soon. Yes the meds take their time, 5 mths for me. the biggest boost was my wrist injection. Oh the difference

Hi, glad you are on the up. Enjoy.

Best way I found to get the energy to garden is - sit in the garden relaxing with a cuppa, as you sit you start to look at what needs doing, then find yourself pottering and before you know it is getting dark and you have spent the rest of the daylight very satisfyingly grafting!!!

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    Hi ironic :D

it's great to read how you're feeling and that the meds are finally working.

it makes such a difference doesn't it just to be able to do the things other people take for granted......but don't overdo it in the garden and let your OH continue to do some of the heavier tasks (supervised of course  :!:  )

seriously though it is so uplifting for all of us to read about peeps doing well/ feeling better on meds. :) makes for a happy day for us too.

Hi Iris, It has been a great boost, as you say being able to do things has made all the difference. Strange how we quickly adapt to our limits without even realising it. Glad you got back ok. Ix

Nice bit of news. Glad to hear how well you're feeling.
The 'airbrush' bit made me smile. Haven't we all had many days we'd like to do that with!
